We worked on this piecemeal over the course of 5 years and at 3 of my studios. It’s huge and edgy but also intimate and earnest in a way that satisfies my inner emo rocker. “Central Valley Heat” by . It’s hotter than the devil’s nips. Thank you to Scott, my tennis nemesis (tennesis), for giving me the pleasure of mixing this groovy-ass ode to the sweltering badlands I have to drive through to get to the Sierra mountains. It’s got swagger, in a real smooth kinda way. I’m always smitten when the 3-part harmonies drop and when tells me “one more time”. Good job band!

It’s a rare recording session that ends up at the top of a mountain! Thanks to for driving your home to my driveway and recording a bunch of folk music and then leading me up some awesome climbs! No other song captures the spirit of being a climber dirtbag better than Joshua’s “Barnstorming”. Thanks to for introducing us and being such a great hang in the studio and the crag, .grogan for the sweet harmonies, for the violin pads, John Bruce for the harmonica, and me for the percussion, recording, mixing, and mastering.
