For 125 years, Knights of Columbus Council 595 has put faith into action throughout Lynchburg, Forest, and the surrounding communities—and we're just getting started.

From supporting local food pantry initiatives and assisting families in need to decades of parish service, charitable outreach, and community leadership, Council 595 continues to live the principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism every day.

Our mission is simple: to serve Christ by serving others. Through volunteerism, fundraising, pro-life support, parish ministries, and countless acts of charity, we strive to make a lasting difference in the lives of those around us.

Whether you are looking to become a Knight or support our efforts, we invite you to join us in continuing a legacy of faith, service, and brotherhood that has strengthened our community for more than a century.

TEACHING ABOUT THE LAW
Gospel Matthew 5:17-19

Jesus said to his disciples: "Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have come not to abolish but to fulfill. Amen, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or the smallest part of a letter will pass from the law, until all things have taken place. Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do so will be called least in the Kingdom of heaven. But whoever obeys and teaches these commandments will be called greatest in the Kingdom of heaven."

We partner with parishes to get real work done — and we’re proud to share a recent example close to home. Last month our volunteers from Council 595 stepped in at the parish near 201 Sweeney Circle in Forest, VA to repair a leaking water line, organize a weekend food drive with our parish aide, and assist with sacramental prep. We rolled up our sleeves, worked together, and delivered immediate, tangible help for families and parish life. We show up. We serve. We care. THE SERMON ON THE MOUNT
Gospel Matthew 5:1-12

When Jesus saw the crowds, he went up the mountain, and after he had sat down, his disciples came to him. He began to teach them, saying:

"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the land.
Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied.
Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the clean of heart, for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness,
for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and utter every kind of evil against you falsely because of me.
Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven.
Thus they persecuted the prophets who were before you."

✝️ The Solemnity of Corpus Christi: Celebrating the Real Presence of Christ ✝️
This Sunday, As Catholics from around the world we celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, commonly known as Corpus Christi.
Corpus Christi is a beautiful reminder of one of the greatest gifts Christ gave His Church, the Holy Eucharist. At the Last Supper, Jesus took bread and wine and declared, "This is My Body" and "This is My Blood," establishing the sacrament that continues to nourish and unite Catholics today.
As Catholics, we believe that Jesus Christ is truly present as the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity in the Eucharist. The Mass is not simply a remembrance of Christ's sacrifice; it is a participation in that sacrifice and an encounter with the living Lord.
The Feast of Corpus Christi was established around the 13th century and has long been celebrated with Eucharistic processions, public prayer, and acts of devotion that proclaim our faith in Christ's Real Presence. These processions are a public witness that Christ remains with His people and walks among us today.
For the Knights of Columbus, Corpus Christi holds special meaning. Our principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism are rooted in our Catholic faith, and the Eucharist is the source and summit of that faith. Through Christ in the Eucharist, we find the strength to serve our families, our parishes, and our communities.
Holy Cross Catholic Church in Lynchburg, VA is seen below celebrating its own Eucharistic Walk in honor of The Feast of Corpus Christi led by Father Salvador Anonuevo and supported by the Knight of Columbus Assembly 1315.
