Snuffy Jenkins Festival

Something that's been on our mind more than the festival is our beloved friend and dear family member to many of us, Billy Constable. As many friends, family, and fans already know from other sources, he's now in hospice care in Spruce Pine. There are so many things to say about this wonderful man, and there are a lot of amazing tributes being posted about him right now all over the internet from friends and family, but we'd like to add that it would be deeply appreciated if anybody that's able could please help Billy and his family out through the gofundme account set up in his name. And we hope everybody can help out by sending prayers and good will for Billy and his family. Thank you.

Billy Constable is a well loved and respected musician in Western NC and beyond, and is synonymous with bluegrass music. A quick google search will show his many accomplishments throughout his life. We’re sorry to say we won’t be able to hold the Snuffy Jenkins Festival this year, 2015. The festival is non-profit and depends on raising funds in advance to cover the costs of talent and operational expenses, etc. The economic situation here is difficult, and we’ve not been able to gather the necessary funds for this year. We have some folks who are willing to help for the future, and we will let you know as soon as there are developments.

Hey everybody, just a reminder, the SJF is a rain or shine event! There's limited indoor space in the visitors' center if you absolutely MUST avoid getting rained on haha! Otherwise, if we get any rain, we encourage you to just bring some rain gear and enjoy the show. Looking forward to seeing everybody tomorrow!

Here's a new commercial for this year's SJF running on the local cable network. This clip features Billy Constable on mando, Roger Padgett on guitar, Rob Parks on bass, and Vernon Hensley on banjo. These guys put this group together on the spot at last year's festival. Looking forward to more great jams like this next Saturday!
