More enthusiastic reviews of Five Frickin Winters.

A modern farce full of physical comedy, great laughs, and some cerebral dialogue that sets it apart from the typical funny plays out there. These strong and well-defined characters take us on a wild ride of love and lust, leading to an unexpectedly sweet (and maybe a little sad) finale. A fantastic script,
DC Cathro

Ruyle populates his plays with interesting characters with distinct personalities. The four in this play are no exception. Each is looking for love, but they don't always know how to find it, and one is definitely looking in the wrong place. Strong story, realistic dialogue, characters you care about, an unforeseen denouement. Vintage Ruyle, and, as always, excellent playwrighting.
Donald E. Baker

Actors have a blast bringing these characters to life. Everyone is a completely distinct personality with such a compelling story to tell. My favorite was poor Kev, who constantly seems behind everybody else. But the dialogue is where this play sings. Kim Ruyle gives some of the best flirtatious dialogue I've seen in a play in a long time. I was completely taken with this piece.

Five Frickin Winters makes an impact! A few more quotes from enthusiasts…
Great roles, pithy dialogue, thorny situations, and while there is a glossy wit on the surface, conflicting emotions bubble underneath like acid. This is a sharply written work.
~Doug DeVita
Thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish. I love the characters, the banter, the romantic tension, interesting twists, and nice ending. This is a gem with wonderful nuances, wit, and humor.
~Jack Levine
Get onboard the rollercoaster and ready yourself for one helluva ride with non-stop twists and turns! Ruyle gives us a full evening of well-plotted, high-tension conflict, fueled by four distinct character voices. A sharp, witty script ... a beautifully faceted gemstone that explores multiple layers of the human experience!

What do others think about Five Frickin Winters? Here are a few quotes…

A great, complex play about the prickly pitfalls of romance and infidelity.
Ross Tedford Kendall

What an amazing and funny journey that Ruyle takes us on with Five Frickin Winters. Love and relationships are such unpredictable beasts that we're lucky at all to find either during our time here on earth, but this play gives us such vibrant characters who are also so realistic and the dialogue is as good as it gets filled with humor and wit and realism that you will make you remember Roger, Carm, Kat, and Kev long after the play has ended.
Lee R. Lawing

This play masterfully explores the themes of romance, aging, and other incredible real struggles while never holding back on the wit!
