It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of beloved SST community member Jon Beaver. After completing the opening weekend of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, which he was thoroughly enjoying, Jon passed suddenly on Tuesday evening.
Humorously self-referred to as "Mr. Eileen" Jon was the husband of SST's Resident Costumer and Olde Tyme Radio Director, Eileen Beaver. He was an active member of the theatre community in the Sacramento area for over 40 years and had performed in over 150 musicals, plays, and productions in the area since 1985. In high school he lettered in both Track and Football and went on to be a linebacker and halfback for Sac State, where he aslo lettered in Track and Football. He served active duty in the U.S. Marine Corps from June 1959 to August 1962 and achieved the rank of 1st Lieutenant. After his military service he became a lawyer and, after so many years, came to meet Eileen through the legal profession. Jon was dearly loved and brought a smile to the face of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
The remainder of the run of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum will be dedicated to his memory.
