OLP Drama Program The program allows parish children attending Notre Dame School, OLP Prep program or in the parish community to participate.

The program performs an annual Broadway show in the early Spring (Thursday thru Sunday) at the OLP gym. The program encourages self-confidence, communication, imagination, social interaction, public speaking and teamwork. It also promotes the arts and provides growth opportunities for all varieties of learners. Besides being incredibly fun, musical theater helps young people develop many of the sk

ills necessary for success in today’s world. The production normally begins with auditions in the early Fall and some short rehearsals before the end of the year. Rehearsals are normally Friday nights. Full production begins in January with preparations for the show to include set build & design, prop, costume & make-up groundwork, publication & marketing, selling ads for program, fundraising & rehearsals and planning for the show.

Rehearsals are underway and the children are so excited to be performing this well admired Disney play. Behind the scenes teams are busy creating sets & props, making costumes & deciding makeup requirements, prepping for sound and lights, marketing our program and selling ads for our booklet. The energy is irresistible. Not to mention, music & vocal practice, directing, choreography, & producing our show have been happening since October. Congratulations to our many parents & volunteers who are devoting their time and energy to insure that our children are prepared & ready to perform. This program requires a tremendous team effort and we are thankful to our many helpers. Ticket sales will begin in early February and tickets will be $10. This is a show you will WANT to see. A parent meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Sep 13th 6:30 at Nelson Hall (Notre Dame campus/site) and important information will be distributed about the program. For all interested children, it is essential that a parent/guardian attend this meeting. Auditions will be held on October 7th from 6-8PM and Oct 9th from 2-4PM, with call backs on Oct 16th from 4-6PM in OLP Gym building. Suggested songs to prepare are: “Do You Want to Build a Snowman”, “First Time in Forever”, “In Summer”, and “Reindeers are Better Than People”. You can view, print & download the lyrics/music for these songs on our parish website at: https://olpparish.org/frozen-audition-songs/ Our read-through of the script will be Friday night Nov 18th with rehearsals scheduled for a few Fridays in December and full production rehearsals beginning on Fridays from January-March.
