🏆 Help Floyd defend its title as Top Tiny Adventure Town!

Floyd made the cut in the first round of voting for Blue Ridge Outdoors magazine’s 2026 Top Adventure Towns — and now it’s time for Round 2!

Floyd was named Top Tiny Adventure Town in 2025, so let’s help our little mountain town defend its title!

🌕 It only happens once a month — Full Moon Zipline Tours!

This Friday night, August 28, experience Buffalo Mountain Ziplines after dark for our Sturgeon Moon Full Moon Tour!

We’ll head out at 9:00 PM, with headlamps and glow necklaces lighting the way as you zip through the tree canopy under the night sky. The full moon rises in Floyd at about 8:10 PM, giving it time to climb higher as we begin the tour.

Our Full Moon Tours include all 8 ziplines, including Virginia’s highest and longest single zipline — a completely different experience after dark!

Buffalo Mountain Ziplines has been named the **2026 Platinum Award winner for Best Place to Go Ziplining or Try an Aerial Adventure** in Blue Ridge Country magazine’s Best of the Mountains Readers’ Choice Awards!

Platinum is the highest award level, recognizing the business that received the most reader votes in our category for the Upper Blue Ridge region — Virginia, West Virginia and Kentucky.

This year’s Best of the Mountains poll drew a record-breaking **37,000+ votes**, making it the largest Readers’ Choice awards program in Blue Ridge Country’s 38-year history.

Don’t let the forecast make the decision for you!

The forecast has looked almost the same every day this week—a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Yet every tour we’ve taken out has come back dry.

These photos were all taken this week, including yesterday’s beautiful double rainbow that appeared after a passing shower (photo taken from across the road from Buffalo Mountain Ziplines).

Summer weather in the mountains can change quickly. We monitor conditions throughout the day and, if necessary, wait for a brief shower or thunderstorm to pass before heading out. Your safety and the best possible experience are always our top priority.
