Mississippi lost a treasure yesterday with the passing of celebrated artist Gary Walters.

Gary loved Mississippi and making and teaching art. He was known for sharing with others his deep love for his wife, Joan, and his family. He had a wonderful sense of humor and put his heart into his work. It was an honor to know him and be a part of his art journey.

Please send prayers for the Walters family at this time. Services will be held September 3 at Providence Presbyterian Church in Clinton, MS, with a visitation at 10 am and service at 11 am.
