Landman just took a direct shot at The View—and it was anything but subtle.In the latest episode, Billy Bob Thornton’s character casually refers to The View as “a bunch of pissed-off millionaires,” and it lands exactly how Taylor Sheridan likely intended. Not subtle. Not polite. Completely on brand.
The line comes during a phone call with Sam Elliott’s character, playing out like one of those moments where you laugh first… then realize how pointed it actually was. Thornton even makes it clear it’s not joke-funny—it’s uncomfortable funny. The kind that hits differently depending on where you’re standing.
What makes it even sharper? Thornton himself appeared on The View last year promoting this very show. That irony is doing some serious work.

Love it or hate it, Sheridan knows how to stir the pot without breaking the scene.
