"Meet the Candidates" Event at the Florence Events Center on September 13th, 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
"Your Right, Your Privilege and Your Responsibility
Voting is one of the most important ways you can make clear what matters to you and your loved ones. However you choose to vote, you must know the candidates' platforms and positions on the issues you care about.
Here in Florence, all 5 positions in our city government are open, from mayor through the 4 city council positions. This is your chance to hear all 11 candidates speak and answer questions. Afterward, you can engage one-on-one with them at their campaign tables for specific answers on your hot topics.
You will also have the opportunity to hear and meet 4 incredible Republican candidates for 4 key races in Oregon. Nationally, Retired Air Force Colonel, Monique DeSpain is running for US Congress District 4 and Oregon Senator David Brock Smith is running for US Senate.
For state offices, Christine Drazan or her representative will speak and you can meet Florence’s own, Claire Lynn, who is running for Oregon State Representative District 9.
Federal and State budgets keep growing, and in Florence, costs and fees keep increasing as well. Understandably, a lot of coastal Oregonians are frustrated – here’s your chance to meet the candidates, chat with them 1-on-1, and prepare to vote."
