As we prepare Come From Away, we asked our cast two powerful questions:
What does this show mean to you? Where were you when you heard about the 9/11 attacks?
The memories they shared remind us why this musical matters — kindness, connection, and the way people show up for one another.
Stay tuned as we highlight their voices. We all come from away.
Amelia Sprawls comes from Florence, SC: "As the only cast member who did not experience the events of 9/11, I hope to not only portray this story with respect but to learn from those who have stories to tell from this historic tragedy."
Fran Coleman comes from Richmond, VA: "I was a freshman in college, and for whatever reason, I decided to skip theory class that morning to take my car for an oil change. I will never forget that morning as we all stood staring at the TV."
Candy Carter comes from Florence, SC: "A meeting was canceled and I watched TV nonstop. I was pregnant with our first child, overwhelmed by sadness and fear of what might come next. I also remember our country’s incredible sense of unity."
Kevin Carter comes from Florence, SC: "I’m excited to be back on stage after a short hiatus, and even better, I’m back on stage with Candy. However, this show does stir painful memories of a devastating time for our country."
