❄️ Ice Rink Update ❄️

It’s with heavy hearts that we share we won’t be opening our ice rink this season.

Montana’s unusually warm weather, and the extended forecast showing another warm front moving in, has made it impossible to safely flood and freeze the rink.

Our dedicated maintenance crew and The Florence Civic Club worked tirelessly to get everything ready, and we were so excited to see our community out on the ice. However, opening the rink under these conditions would create serious safety risks. Thin or unstable ice could lead to accidents, and it could also damage our tarp and equipment, putting the rink out of commission for even longer.

The safety of our community is our top priority, and we simply cannot take the risk. We’re truly sad to miss a season of skating, laughter, and togetherness, but we hope you understand this decision was made with everyone’s well-being in mind. 💙

We are asking for donations of:

Used rugs and/or carpet remnants to protect our newly sharpened skates.
A walker or 2 for beginning skaters.
Used benches for spectators and a safe place to put on skates.
Used hockey sticks.

Please drop off these items at Florence Ace Hardware.

Big things are happening at the Florence Outdoor Ice Rink. 👀

Huge thank you to our grounds crew, who have been putting long hours in to prepare the surface for flooding!

We have so many exciting things on the docket this season! Stay tuned for info on open skates, parties, theme nights, and maybe even local celebrity appearances. 🤫
