Hey there, fellow makers, creators, and artists!

Hi! I'm Dori, and I can't wait to welcome you this fall.

I've always believed that creativity is so much more than making something beautiful—it's a way to connect with others, solve problems, express ourselves, and discover joy along the way. Whether you've been creating for years or you're picking up a paintbrush for the very first time, there's a place for you here.

My journey has taken me from a career in account management, cloud software, and cybersecurity to following a lifelong passion for art. While those worlds may seem very different, they've both taught me the same lesson: the best things happen when curiosity, patience, and heart come together.

Today, you'll usually find me experimenting with acrylic pours, exploring new techniques, or dreaming up the next fun project to share. Nothing makes me happier than watching someone discover their creativity and realize they're capable of making something they never thought possible.

At The Gathering Palette, you're not just signing up for a class—you're becoming part of a creative community. We'll celebrate the happy accidents, the beautiful color blends, the perfect "cells," the laughter, and even the messy moments, because that's where the magic happens.

My philosophy is simple:

The Gathering Palette, LLC is a community-focused art studio dedicated to providing accessible, high-quality visual arts experiences for learners of all ages and skill levels. Located in Florence, WI, the studio offers a welcoming environment where participants can explore creative expression through structured classes, workshops,Open studio, and events. The Gathering Palette emphasizes hands-on learning, artistic growth, and collaboration, encouraging individuals to discover and develop their unique artistic voices. The studio values inclusivity, creativity, and a supportive atmosphere that inspires both beginners and experienced artists.

Role Description:
The Art Instructor will lead engaging, hands-on art classes and workshops for students with varying experience levels in an on-site studio setting in Florence, WI. This part-time role involves planning and delivering lessons, demonstrating techniques in painting and drawing, guiding participants through projects, and providing constructive, encouraging feedback. The Art Instructor will prepare materials and classroom space, ensure a safe and organized environment, and adapt instruction to different ages and learning styles.

Responsibilities also include helping promote classes, maintaining positive relationships with students and families, and collaborating with studio leadership to refine offerings and support special events.
Qualifications

Curriculum Development and Teaching skills to design and deliver effective, age-appropriate art lessons.
Proficiency in Painting, Drawing, and general Art techniques to demonstrate and guide a variety of projects.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse learners and foster an inclusive classroom environment.
Ability to manage classroom materials, maintain a safe studio space, and organize sessions efficiently.
Prior experience teaching art in group or individual settings is preferred.
Availability to work part-time on-site in Florence, WI, including evenings or weekends as needed.
Degree or formal training in Art, Art Education, or a related field is beneficial but not required.
