Thanks to all who auditioned for The Wizard of Oz. There were so many talented actors to choose from. Please know these decisions were not made easily and that we encourage everyone to continue to audition for shows in the future!

Our first cast meeting will be held Monday, April 18th at 6:00 pm at the Shoals Theatre.

Thank you so much for a great day of auditions! We would like to see the following people back on Monday, April 11, 2022 at 6:00 at the Shoals Theatre. Please dress comfortably and NO open toed shoes. Be prepared to learn choreography. Some may also be asked to learn a song and read from the script. Basic Info for the auditions:
Dates- April 9th 10:00 am-12:00 pm- Ensemble Auditions
1:00 pm- 4:00 pm- Solo Auditions
How to dress:
Please wear comfortable clothing that you can easily move around in to the audition. While there will be no choreography on the day of the audition, you should wear comfortable shoes with a closed toe.
What to prepare:
If you are auditioning for a character who sings a solo, you should prepare a one minute song. Please choose a song from "The Wizard of Oz" and have an accompaniment track. You can usually find a karaoke version of these songs on itunes or you tube. YOU MUST HAVE PRE-RECORDED MUSIC TRACKS TO ACCOMPANY YOU ONSTAGE.
If you are auditioning for the ensemble OR are under age 12, please be prepared to sing “We’re Off to See the WIzard” onstage in a group.
What to expect:
ALL AUDITIONEES MUST BE AGE 6 OR OLDER BY MAY 1, 2022 IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR A ROLE IN THIS SHOW.
Ensemble auditions:
At the audition, you will fill out an audition sheet (basic information including rehearsal conflicts so please bring your calendar) and receive a number. Please pin the number to your clothes where it is visible. We will also take a quick photo of you so the casting team can easily look back and remember who you are! You will then be assigned to sit in a designated area of the theatre to wait for your turn onstage.
Those auditioning for ensemble or under age 12 will be asked to come onstage with a group. You will sing "We’re Off the See the Wizard" as a group and the music director will be onstage listening to everyone. After the song, you may be asked to stay onstage for a cold reading.
Those auditioning for solos will sing onstage individually. After the music director has heard your song, you will be asked to look at an excerpt from the script for a cold reading.
ALL Choreography will be taught at call backs if needed. There will be no choreography at general auditions. A callback list will be posted by Sunday and callbacks will be held on Monday, April 11th.
