IT’S ALMOST TIME! 🌾 Join us THIS SUNDAY for our Stomp & Sow Community Barn Dance!

The revolution wasn’t just fought on battlefields — it was lived in barns, taverns, and town greens by everyday people. Come celebrate their stories on Stangl Road, marking 250 years of the United States.

What’s happening:
🎭 The Crossing: A Revolutionary New Musical — an intimate tavern performance amplifying the voices history often leaves out, including Flemington’s own Jacob Francis, a freed Black man who served in the Continental Army
📖 Larry Kidder shares remarks on Jacob Francis’s extraordinary story
💃 Jugtown Mountain String Band + Caller Sue Dupre — two rounds of live square dancing (no experience needed, just show up!)
🌮 Viva Mexico Food Truck to keep everyone fed
🌱 Seed swap — bring seeds from your garden, take something new home to grow
🎨 Flemington DIY screenprinting station — press your own bandana inspired by revolutionary ideals

The revolution didn’t end in 1776. Come dance, create, plant, and keep imagining how revolutionary ideals become lived experience in our communities.

Traces in Places: Urban Ephemera is a solo exhibition of artwork by local artist and art therapist . The exhibition features over 30 digital collages from the Street Layers series. These works combine photographs of graffiti and textures taken across the tri-state area over the past decade. Her process pulls images from different neighborhoods and even times, collaging time and place. Preserving images of that which, by its nature, will be washed away, painted over, reconstructed, repaired, or torn down highlights the tension between holding on and letting go. Images in these layers break apart so they can come back together in new configurations.

Flemington DIY is happy to host an art-filled afternoon that will get your creative juices flowing! Join us for this free community event celebrating both art-making and responsible material reuse.

Do you have boxes of art supplies collecting dust that haven't sparked your creativity lately? Bring them to the Supply Swap and perhaps they will find a new home! Are you wishing you could stumble across new paint colors, fabric swatches, or other creative source materials? Maybe your wishes will come true on July 11th!

Whether you plan to bring art materials or want to browse what's on offer, we invite everyone to stick around and spend the afternoon creating art with your community.

CALLING ALL FDIY VOLUNTEERS & MEMBERS! ☎️ Our 4th annual volunteer & member art show will be held in August 2026. It’s never too early to begin planning your art for this show!

Submission will be accepted until July 26.

Our members and volunteers do so much for us. We’ve operated solely on volunteer power since our inception 12 years. Because of our dedicated volunteers, we’re able to host 200+ events each year across the arts spectrum. They are the driving force behind all we do, our backbone – lifting us up and enriching our organization.

Our sustaining members keep us afloat. Like lifejackets, we’re fortunate to have them. Their financial commitments ensure there’s a future for Flemington DIY to host art shows forever!

Now it’s our time to support and honor our members and volunteers in this annual exhibit, highlighting the talents of those who continuously keep Flemington DIY going.
