A long time visitor to the goat barn, Michelle Hendry wanted to find a way to help with budget shortfalls affecting Lilian Sandburg’s legacy herd. Each acrylic painting on panel represents one of the current residents of the Sandburg barn. Michelle’s goal was to capture the personality of each goat.

Fashion designer Janice Schmidt of Goddess Rags will be featured in L’atelier: The Art of Fashion and Wine.
Taking place tomorrow Saturday June 13th during the annual La Vie en Rosé Arts, Music and Wine Festival held in Flat Rock at Marked Tree Vineyards.

Corresponding with National Rosé Day and to celebrate the release of Marked Tree Vineyard’s award-winning Rosé “Chloé’, the festival invites guests to meet the artists, experience exceptional performances, and enjoy curated wine experiences — all inspired by the elegance and joie de vivre of “La Vie en Rosé.”

Janice Schmidt, the maker behind Goddess Rags, has a studio in Weaverville, North Carolina. She comes from generations of makers and loves the privilege of working with wonderful clients, making pretty things. Janice creates zero waste clothing with respect for the effort it takes to make these textiles, the hands that touched them along the way and a desire to give them the longevity they deserve.
