Homegrownfabrics

Homegrownfabrics HomeGrown Fabrics is a page dedicated to yarn and textile production. Every day we work hard with our animals and making the products we love.

We have a small alpaca farm (10 and growing) located in Flat Rock, Alabama (closest city Chattanooga TN, but also within driving distance of Huntsville, Al and Atlanta GA. We are a Mother daughter team that loves to create beautiful Fiber arts, whether that is a skein of alpaca yarn or a hand quilted blanket made with love. We are involved in the artistic community in the Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee community.

I plied some yarn and I’m really happy with it. I love the colors. I am so glad I did it is very portable and I was able to do all the plying from my hotel bed while watching a movie πŸ˜‚

Shearing 2025 is in the books. We used shearing delight this year since Jay was unable to make his rounds this year. Jeanna Mcconnell and team did a great job. Miranda enjoyed helping even though she looks grumpy in the picture she did a good job. The alpacas are much happier now they have had their haircuts.
