We welcome equitable, diverse, and inclusive casting, especially underrepresented voices, and encourage all skill levels to come out and audition in a safe space! Please note that the character of Alex is male-presenting and must appear to be around 75 years old.

This one-act play, written by Simon Stephens (adapter of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time) opens with two strangers meeting awkwardly in a London railway station. Through repeated encounters, they reveal to each other—and to the audience—deep insecurities and profound damage. Will these two people change each other for the better or for the worse? This dramatic comedy takes the audience on an intense journey, exploring relationships, mental health, and... theoretical physics?

Character Descriptions:

Georgie Burns (already cast): 42, American woman. Frenetic energy and a propensity to lie for the sake of lying.

Alex Priest: 75, British man. A reserved butcher , initially hesitant to open up, but as he gradually reveals himself, it becomes more and more clear that he is just as deeply wounded as Georgie.

Actors Wanted for Live Theatre

Theatrikos seeks experienced and new actors for the historical Colorado whitewater Men on Boats.

Despite the name Men on Boats, there are no men in this cast. This cast will be made up of actors who are anything but cisgender white males. The entire cast is all women. More specifically, the playwright and director say, “I'm talking about racially diverse actors who are female-identifying, trans-identifying, gender fluid, and/or non-gender-conforming.” For this show, we are especially looking for women of color. Theatrikos is seeking a multi-generational, diverse cast of actors of all ages, races, sexual orientations, and ethnic backgrounds are welcome and encouraged to audition for all our shows. We love discovering new talent. Welcome to Theatrikos—your new home away from home.

If you can play the harmonica, or are willing to learn, that’s great. Also, this is a physically demanding show. There aren’t real boats, of course. But actors carry prop boats and act like they’re getting tossed around on the river.

Theatrikos is always looking for experienced actors as well as new actors. We love discovering new talent. All roles are open and everyone is welcome to come to the audition. Actors from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to audition.

Audition Format
For Men on Boats, actors will be asked to read select scenes from the script. No need to prepare monologue. All levels of experience are welcome. We love discovering new talent!

Join cast members from Stargazer Collaborative Theatre's production of Gypsy and Flagstaff Music Theatre's production of Urinetown for an evening of songs at Oeno Wine Bar on Tuesday, February 20th!

With Gypsy running March 8th - 16th and Urinetown, March 29th - April 7th at Coconino Center for the Arts, the two organizations are coming together to bring you a free evening of music with beverages and food available for purchase. Join us at 6:00 PM for our first set or 7:15 PM for our second set, all ages welcome. During both sets, tickets to both shows will be raffled off for what we're so lovingly calling "March Musical Madness"! Mark your calendars for a a night of free entertainment while supporting local performing arts!

Auditions for "Urinetown The Musical" are coming up! If you or someone you know may be interested in auditioning, share the link below!
