Spinosaurus mirabilis is a new species of Spinosaurus coming from Niger. And it had a really unique crest, which helps show that spinosaurs were rather gawdy with their displays.

Like Frankenstein's monster raised from the dead, Nanotyrannus has returned, and it's actually really important that it did. First it might give us insights into the murky past of Appalachia, and second, it throws a lot the last 20 years of Tyrannosaurus research out the window.

New Edmontosaurus Mummies with Spikes, Hooves, and Skin!

Two new fossil mummies from Edmontosaurus have been described, and they show new features, like a back crest, and spikes along the back. These fossils inform us about their locomotion, appearance, and potentially even some of their behavior!

Researchers are getting together to create an open access volume dedicated to Diplodocoids- some of the most iconic, diverse, and successful sauropods in Earth's history. And you can help fund it!

Join me as I sit down with leading experts including Dr. Cary Woodruff, Tom van der Linden, Colin Boisvert, and Dr. John Whitlock to talk about the exciting new discoveries and insights their research will bring to this collection.

A team led by Tom Van der Linden has published on the first known egg fragment in the Lance Formation. Although the fossil could belong to one of the other animals from the Lance Formation, the team has some reason to suspect it might belong to a Tyrannosaurs rex.

A team of researchers has published a response to the statements from Colossal Bioscience claiming they have cloned a dire wolf. And all before Colossal''s own paper has had a chance to get out of preprint!

Find out what the researchers (and I) have to say about it:

Spinosaurs are thought of as massive fish eaters that went extinct around 90 million years ago. But new fossils in Peru may be from a previously unknown spinosaurid, and date to the late Cretaceous, potentially being younger than 70 million years old. But how do researcher know these are spinosaur teeth, and when so many different animals have evolved a similar tooth shape, what makes these teeth unique?

Spinosaurus has gone through a ton of changes in the last few years, mostly cycling back and fourth between being an underwater hunter, and feeding more like a heron. This paper sought to find an answer with a more comprehensive study of the animal.

One popular question around this time of year is how did dinosaurs reproduce? They're large, and often spiky, it wouldn't be the easiest thing to do. But researchers have some ideas, and based on their long fossil history from over 150 million years they were able to reproduce. So here we answer with some of the ideas about how dinosaurs did the deed.
