Now unveiling the newly named "Skylight Theater" at Coconino Center for the Arts 💛

In February 1892, the Coconino Sunn referred to Flagstaff as the "Skylight City," calling attention to the remarkable clarity of the atmosphere and brilliant lighting resulting from the town's 7,000-feet-plus elevation and cloudless skies... Soon newspaper and magazine articles referred to Flagstaff as "Skylight City."

The name Skylight Theater at Coconino Center for the Arts applies this historic reference to CCA’s intimate, acoustically excellent theater that merges nature with culture with windows to the sky, day and night. The naming in 2026 celebrates the 25th anniversary of Flagstaff’s designation as the world’s first international Dark Sky City

We have had so many amazing performances in this theater and we look forward to many more to come!

Moments from Savor the Night Sky!

What an amazing evening of performance, dining, and dark skies. We couldn't think of a better way to close out the NightVisions:AMBER exhibition.

We enjoyed incredible performances by the Stargazer Theater Company, a beautiful live painting by Janet Yazzie, and the unveiling of our newly named "Skylight Theater."

Thank you to SOSTA for catering the event. The cuisine was a true highlight of the night, and we are grateful for our ongoing partnership.

Gratitude to Flagstaff Dark Skies Coalition for partnering to celebrate 25 years of dark skies, through art.

Until next time!
