As an artist with chronic illnesses, sometimes my protests look a little different, but I show support with my art and the good I try to put into the world. These shirts are on my Etsy shop and are made to show solidarity and send support: etsy.com/shop/artofchristy

Proceeds from these HOPECORE shirts will first go to the Immigrant Rapid Response Fund (https://www.wfmn.org/funds/immigrant-rapid-response/) and then to the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota (https://www.ilcm.org/donate/).

Hi art friends! The world has been a heavy place, and sometimes it feels like little ol' me can't do much to change it for the better. I know who I am and what I want to put out into the world, though, and that is a spirit of kindness, creativity, curiosity, gentleness, and care. I've been thinking of how to process all that's been happening, and art has always been my way of working through things. So I made art -

Observing and trying to stay aware, I got chills when I heard, "Hey-oh, we won't be silent while our friends are gunned down" from the unified voices, singing in Philadelphia. With so many dead or harmed, so many lives affected, it is a beautiful way to come together and rise up for good! (If you know the author of that song, I would love to give credit. I couldn't find a name when I searched.)

The simple yet impactful rose is a nod to the memorial where Renee Nicole Good died. White roses rise from stained snow in remembrance. I made this design available on a t-shirt and hoodie if you are interested. https://www.etsy.com/shop/artofchristy

*Edited to add that proceeds from this design will go to Renee’s GoFundMe and other neighbors hurt by this (like the Jackson family and Arnoldo Bazan). I have just sold one shirt so far but if/when proceeds com in, that is the intention. Creating this art Is my way of processing and showing solidarty for good❤️‍🩹

I am working on some more ideas, in addition to my Be Kind & Make Art design (t-shirt, etc.). The next idea is a design centered on the thought, "Let's Care For Each Other."i
