Ever try to find a good sport weight yarn and come up empty? One of our yarn tasters said exactly that and fell in love with Baby Camel. We put it in front of twelve customers at a recent yarn tasting, and it came back as our best-loved skein yet: soft, springy, easy to knit, with great stitch definition!
It's 100% baby camel down, ethically sourced from nomadic herders on the Tibetan Plateau and spun in Italy — a fiber that's rare to find. Come see for yourself why this one's already a favorite!

Happy Tool Tuesday! ⚒️

This week we are thinking about our most important tools of all—our bodies! 🙌

It’s so important to take good care of your hands, and your neck, spine, and hips too, so you can stay healthy and feel good while crafting.

Did you know we have a book from Andrea Lui, PT, DPT, OCS that can help you do just that?!



Andrea’s book has sections that talk about the anatomy and common issues that crafters can experience in these areas.

There is info about maintaining good mechanics and function in areas that are working well and also strategies for troubleshooting and improving areas that need a little TLC. 💝



Wrist stretches are always something we need to do more of, to keep our wrists strong and flexible!

Did you know your ulna—the forearm bone on the pinky side—is a little shorter than the other forearm bone (the radius) and this can lead to strain from ulnar deviation while crafting?!

Have you had any pain while crafting? Check out this excellent book and see if you may find some relief!

We are so excited that our next make-along is going to focus on doodles! If you’ve never done doodles or stranded colorwork work before, don’t worry.

Paige Paige Shipley Designs will be teaching this weekend at the shop. The class fee includes the yarn you need to make a cowl or 2 headbands, including a skein of Scout by Kelbourne Woolens and two DK minis by Color Me Happy Fiber Arts Studio or Felicia from SweetGeorgia ✨ .

Earlier this month we hosted a yarn tasting. We brought out a few yarns that we already had and a few yarns that we were considering for the future and asked our tasters to try them out and tell us about them. We thought we would take this week to share some of the highlights from our tasters for the yarns we have in the shop. They will be out in the tasting bin for you to try too!

First up is Fior di Lino.

Fior di Lino means "flax flower" in Italian, so of course we had to have this in the shop. And, it just happens to be one of Michelle’s very favorite yarns…she has already made two tops out of it!

We put this one in front of our tasters and "soft" came up more than anything else, one describing it as soft and snuggly, like holding a stuffed animal. It's a blend of 50% Tibetan Cloud Wool, 35% Baby Yak, and 15% Italian Linen (for drape and structure). A couple of tasters noticed it feels firmer straight off the skein; that's just how linen behaves before its first wash, and it softens up considerably afterward.

True fi*****ng weight, 218 yards per 50g skein. Come feel the soft drape for yourself!
