Experimenting/Playing is where Im most comfortable when creating. I think that comes from not having any formal training 🤣 just figure it out as I go 🤷🏽‍♀️

This painting took many shapes before ending here. I let the painting lead the way and often there are a few starts that end up being covered by another new start and another until the painting says ok this is where I want to be.

If I could describe my art in one word it would be experimental. My style is all over the place but experimenting on the fly is consistent, that and the use of some bold colors because we all need some color in all the darkness

I will have some of my experiments hanging at The Great Frame Up in Longmont through August 31st if you’re in the area.

The before, after and in between of creating this emotional piece. I ripped and cut 3 paintings apart that I made as part of healing my trauma. Knowing when they were created I’d be destroying them when I was ready. It took years but I made it! Don’t get me wrong trauma never fully leaves us but through the torture of healing we can turn it into something beautiful. The backdrop is another painting I made a couple years ago and I thought it was perfect for this creation.
