I hate posing for pictures but this year Kelley Mae May snapped one of Bobbye Jean Carter and I riding this rollercoaster we call the FINLEY RODEO. We had helicopters, ambulances, sheriffs deputies (a first for us on all accounts) stout broncs, great timed events and even WILD SOWS.
Somehow still we made it through thanks to the only one that gets to “hold my hand”. She keeps the great vendors coming every year and makes sure through all the medias to tell everyone about our little slice of heaven here in FINLEY OKLAHOMA.
Also a BIG BIG GIANT thank you to all the sponsor who continue to support and allow us to add the money to make this little rodeo grow to one of the biggest around. Without y’all none of it is possible.
Thank you to JesseandRyan Hopson for climbing poles like a crazy spider monkey to get all the light’s working and banners hung.
Ryan and Leah Ann Lankford for keeping the gate moving like a well oiled machine. Carl carter for filling in all the washouts around to make your travel as smooth as possible (Tyler Pearson was bragging on you all night).
Thank you to the whole Elias Hunberto Aboytes family. Franscisco, Jesus, Esteven, Luis, Elias, and their wives and kids. These wonderful people w**d eated, mowed, plowed , and raked grass out of the arena until midnight Thursday night. We were a little behind schedule but thankfully they all showed up and got things done.
Thank you to my mom Cindy for keeping my kids clean, fed, and corralled while this picture was taken because as you can tell I had my hands full.
Thank you to the 88,000 band for continuing to put on a great show every year.
Thank you to the Finley fire department for making sure we had plenty of water to get the grounds rodeo ready.
We saw lots of laughs in the crowd thanks to the one and only MC, the mouth from the south Mr Brandon Motley. He can be serious when he needs to be, he can rhyme when he doesn’t , and he can do it all seemingly with no effort at all.
Thank you to the whole 44 rodeo crew. Since we partnered up this thing has grown year over year. They take a lot of the responsibility off my shoulders and make everything work as smoothly as possible. For that I am grateful.
We will do this crazy, fun, exciting Push county get together again next year.
SEE YALL THEN
