The Copper Mitten

The Copper Mitten Handmade enamel and metal (copper, silver, brass) jewelry. I'm one of those parents who put their life on hold while raising their children.

I always felt I put my creativeness on hold as well! Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't change a thing about raising my twin daughters. Although I love all forms of art - I took only one metal working class and I was hooked. I have been teaching myself ever since. Maybe it's the pounding of metal and forming objects and jewelry with my hands. Whatever it is - I absolutely love it! I started out in t

he living room, off in a corner, trying to be out of the way. Once pictures started falling off the walls and the dogs barking every time I pounded on something (They thought someone was at the door!), my husband and I agreed that I needed to have a space of my own. He immediately went to work building me a workbench and transformed a room in the basement where I could work undisturbed. I think it really was so the rest of the family was undisturbed! I can now pound, play my music (loud) and generally get the creative juices flowing. I hope you like my work!

What a surprise these earrings were, working with Separation Enamel!

When applied, separation enamel disrupts the normal flow of the underlying layers and you get the sort marbled looking effect. I will be experimenting with more colors!
