We have already done a tree on the inner form on the same arm, and this is added to the back of the forearm. We are going to continue with the background wrapping around the front to make a complete half sleeve next session.

A whole new look already to this old name coverup and rework on the old original butterfly. I did not do any of the original work. Already can’t read the name which is marvelous and the butterfly has so much more form. A little bit more to go and this piece will be done.

Today is the 12 year anniversary of Seed of Life Tattoos! Man, that time had flown by fast. Feel free to stop by and say hello and also check out some artwork while you’re at it.

Hey, all you Tattoo lovers! It’s that time of year again. Seed of Life Tattoos will be celebrating. It’s 12th birthday this August 1!! Normally we do some kind of special every year on the shops birthday, but this month we’re gonna run it for the entire month of August! I get asked all the time if I have any extra drawings that I have done overtime that have never been tattooed that I would like to Tattoo and the answer to that is always yes!! I have put together a portfolio of drawings I have done on my own time that have never been tattooed, but I would love to. I have drawings from very small to about the size of a half sleeve for anybody to come in to rifle through drawings, artwork, and more!!!

Here below are just a few examples of people doing this by picking drawings I already had done. I love when people are so open and excited for a new tattoo that they don’t have to micromanage.

I remember this feeling about hand drawn cartoons ca when pixel came out and more cartoons where using this. Yes, it was an amazing jump in technology and how they could make cartoons look but I always felt something was lost. The warmth in a drawing an artist does, the imperfections that make it look perfect instead of too perfect. I went to college specifically for a Fine Arts degree and stayed away from computer art because I loved the feeling of pencil on paper. How you have to move and spin around your canvas for better lines and control. You learned the movements the hand needs to most comfortably and also go about how to do what needs to be done. This helps immensely with tattooing!!! When I know I have to push or pull a line because of the angle the machine needs to be and I already knew how to go about the piece because I already drew it by hand. When I tired to draw on a tablet with a stylus it never felt like it was truly mine. I didn’t like the feel of no paper and no hard copy. I do not use the computer at all to do any of my drawings unless I have images sent to me for inspiration when needed. I will always stick to the original mediums. The art that you learn from, make mistakes and learn how to fix them and the warmth the artist naturally gives it. Technology can be great but there’s some things you can’t reproduce and replicate without the raw art supplies.
