Blevins’ paintings explore what it means to exist in a state of in-betweenness. Moving between portraiture, landscape and domestic space, she creates environments that feel familiar and unsettled while presenting questions around Black identity, belonging and self-understanding.

Michael Polakowski creates richly symbolic worlds inspired by mythology and allegory. Travelers, serpents, vessels, volcanoes, and winding paths form a visual language that invites contemplation of one’s choices rather than a fixed interpretation.

At the center of the exhibition is the volcano, a symbol of unseen pressure and inevitable transformation. Like tectonic forces beneath the earth, environmental, political, and social change often builds quietly before reshaping the landscape around us.

Rather than illustrating current events, Polakowski uses myth to explore the uncertainty of contemporary life. His small figures navigate vast, unstable landscapes, reminding us that while we cannot always control the world around us, we can choose how we move through it.

On view through Sept 5th.
