In addition to the walk, attendees can experience fun bonus activities from community partners! Kari Revolva of BroadMinded Women Over 40 R***e will be there co-hosting a hula hoop station with Beverly Larsen from Gemini Circles. You can hang out and hoop with us, even if you’ve never tried it before (we have beginner hoops and lots of encouragement).

You don't have to be experiencing menopause to stand with women who are.
One share reaches someone we can't. One invitation may bring a woman who needs exactly what we're building.

Shelly Elle is a 63-year-old pole champion from California, and she OPENED our April show with a standing ovation. 👏🏼 What sets Shelly apart is that her acts tell a story, through mind blowing feats of strength and flexibility. This act was a Peaky Blinders-themed tribute to the late Helen McCrory, and we were so fortunate that she traveled to Detroit to share her work with us.

Because it was almost 8 minutes of jaw-dropping art, you’re gonna just have to book Shelly to see it live! We can only give you a taste here, including the crowd uncontrollably rising to their feet and screaming their heads off when she took her bow. Shelly proves that there is NO expiration date on strength — both physical and emotional. Bravo, sister!

A very happy birthday week to the dazzling Grace Detroit — who rocked it in our April show with Motor City music icon Audra Kubat! Grace turned 62 this week, and here at Broadminded, we know that every year just makes us MORE badass. So show this queen some love! 🎉💖

Thank you to Golden Girls Grace and Audra for being a friend. This crowd singalong was a highlight of the night!

Happy belated birthday to Sandy Eggers, who as of July, 2026 … is now ⭐️82⭐️!! Our most advanced queen rocked it at age 81 in Broadminded Women Over 40 R***e’s big Detroit theater show this spring. Fun fact: Sandy, who performs with San Francisco’s senior showgirls troupe The Golden Follies, also rocked it in our west coast cast back in her 70s!

We have been so lucky to share stages with this jazzy and inspiring lady, who has been dancing for her whole life — and isn’t about to stop now. 😉 To a society that says women are irrelevant and have no value as we age: Hope the theater door hits you where it counts on your way out. Happy 82 years to our beloved Sandy! 💃🥳

Surprise! Broadminded Women Over 40 R***e is doing a Halloween dinner show on Friday, Oct. 30 at Three Cats in Clawson, MI. Patrons will have the opportunity to enjoy Three Cats’ epic cuisine and signature drinks created just for Broadminded. We have a few spots left for women-over-40 variety acts. Our goal is to prove that women have NO expiration date, and that we are not past our prime; we are IN it!

It’s our stage manager’s birthday, so Broadminded declares today Megan appreciation day! This badass woman makes what you see on stage happen so much more smoothly.

For our last show, Megan did everything from late night calls with Broadminded producer Kari Revolva, trying to source equipment parts, to turning massive spreadsheets into streamlined show notes, to running tech, to just being an invaluable source of organization, humor, support, and sanity.

Thank you to Megan for dedicating her MANY talents to Broadminded. It is a blessing to be surrounded by such epic women over 40, on stage, off stage, and everywhere in between. 💖

Get ready, Detroit! On Sept. 5, at AB Ford Park, Kari Revolva of BroadMinded Women Over 40 R***e and Beverly Larsen of Gemini Circles are teaming up with the Hot Flash Goddess Movement’s Menopause Awareness Walk to bring the hooping fun. 🤩 Kari and Bev will host a hoop station where walk attendees can give it a spin, laugh, and feel joy. Think you “can’t hoop”? Think again! These ladies have beginner hoops for adults and the skills to coach you through everything from getting a hoop started — to doing some jazzy moves. This era is a *revolution* for perimenopausal and menopausal women, in more ways than one!

Hope to see you at this one-mile, accessible walk in a beautiful park, with fun activities and an opportunity to make new friends and share our stories.

52 is exactly the right age to kayak through a midlife crisis, in the most Detroit way possible. Just ask Motown comedy queen Heather R. Kyles, who brought the house down in our spring production.

Check out Heather’s shows around the Midwest (and her acting chops on Tubi’s “The Agency”) — and don’t forget that women only get funnier and more likely to make you spit out your drink laughing with every passing year. 🎤

50 and still hooping in a headstand. 💥 True story: In the process of producing BroadMinded Women Over 40 R***e in Detroit, producer Kari Revolva got a comment urging her to take precautions in case “older folks hurt themselves” on stage. The person who said it prob wouldn’t think of himself as ageist. But he said what he said.

It sparked an idea for her act. 😉

And she would love to see him do her act without hurting *himself.*
