“Water Finds a Way”

While in Fujairah, I had just finished painting up the road when Suhail (my host) asked if I wanted to stop and take a few photos before the light faded. We pulled into this strange little town, and he dropped me off for about 30 minutes while I wandered around looking for something to catch my eye.
I didn’t see a single person or car the entire time. Eventually I came across this quiet mosque, where an AC unit was dripping water onto a shrubby tree below, a small detail, but a powerful reminder of how precious water is in this part of the world. I was also lucky enough to experience rare rain during my time abroad, which is why I left the puddle in the painting. Something you might not normally see...
