We’re SO EXCITED to announce that Story & Song has been named a Best of Florida winner in the Bookstore category! 🎉

Thanks to your support, we got to party on Friday to celebrate the news with amazing food, music, laughter, and so much joy. Thank you to everyone who voted for us, supported us, walked through our doors, shared a book recommendation, attended an event, or simply made Story & Song part of your day. We couldn’t be more grateful. This award belongs to our whole Story & Song community!

Our house was packed and swingin' tonight! We were treated to incredible takes on favorites like "The Sidewinder" and "Killer Joe," music from Dizzy Gillespie, Charlie Parker, and Billie Holiday, plus a fantastic tribute to Ray Charles. And getting a sneak peek at what's coming for the 2026 Amelia Island Jazz Festival? We couldn't ask for a better finale!

We definitely missed Bonnie Eisele tonight—she wasn't feeling well, and her beautiful voice was missed! But Les, Paul, Matt, Ajax, Doug, and Ricky absolutely brought it. What a group!

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us throughout "The Story of Jazz" series and helped make each night so much fun. Here's to more jazz, more dancing, and more nights like this!

Last weekend's StoryTime was so much FUN! Everyone contributed their artistic talent to our "wall" after we read "Off the Wall" by best friends Molly Idle & Juana Martinez-Neal in honor of back-to-school time. Isn't it wonderful how creatively different we all are and the beauty that comes from it?

Ms. Dearsha will read "Little Blue Truck Lost & Found," where Little Blue and his farm friends are getting ready for a hayride—until they realize Toad is nowhere to be found! Can they find their little friend before the fun begins?

Then we'll keep the farmyard fun going with a special craft inspired by our story!

We're looking forward to THIS Saturday! 🎶

We're wrapping up "The Story of Jazz" series at Story & Song with one more big night of music—and if you've joined us for the series, you know the Les DeMerle "Hittin' The Blue Notes" Band is going to bring some serious energy to our stage!

We'll hear exciting takes on Blue Note classics like "The Sidewinder" and "Killer Joe," along with music from Dizzy Gillespie, Charlie Parker, Billie Holiday, and a special tribute to the genius of Ray Charles. And they're also giving us a sneak preview of what's coming to the 2026 Amelia Island Jazz Festival!

Les, Bonnie, Paul, Matt, Ajax, Doug, and Ricky are bringing the whole crew, so come enjoy the music and let's send our jazz series off on the right note!

Della Jones, our exhibiting artist, inspired us all today! 

Thank you, Della, for reminding us to march to our own beat, make room for creativity, and not let the world dictate how we express ourselves.

Hearing the story of how you became an artist—right here at Fernandina Beach High School—and learning about the work you now inspire others to do was so meaningful. And hearing you talk about raising children with a love for the arts and the freedom to express themselves as they are made us think about something we could all use a little more of:

Giving ourselves "permission to put the to-do list away for a moment and make time for what we love."

Thank you for sharing your art, your story, and your heart with us, Della. We left feeling inspired to pick up the paintbrush, pen, instrument—or whatever it is that makes us feel like ourselves. 💛

Oh, Dolly. We love you. 💛

What a gift you've been to so many of us—and what a beautiful legacy you've created. Dolly Parton has filled our lives with music, laughter, kindness, and big dreams.

At Story & Song, we especially love the way she put books into the hands of children.

Through Dolly's Imagination Library, millions of children have received free books of their very own. She understood something we believe deeply, too: give a child a book, and you're giving them a world of possibility.

We want the children who come through our doors to know Dolly. To know her songs, her stories, her humor, her generosity, and her enormous heart for people. We want them to grow up knowing that ONE PERSON can make a difference—and that there's no limit to what a little imagination can do.

So today, we're celebrating you, Dolly! We'll keep your stories—and your love of books—going 💗💗💗
