Some of my favorite details from a new passionflower piece getting cleaned up this week.

Summer is officially here and ALL of the things are happening! Thunderstorms are back, flowers are blooming and my partner David and I have just kicked off the 12th season of our summer surf camp! Yes, that’s right, when I’m not in my studio or roaming the woods, I’m introducing kids to the magic of wave riding. Posting may be random and erratic the next couple of months as I am already feeling it this year. The mid 40s is not for the faint. 🫠

Cheers to the weekend and all of my other small owner friends who don’t know what weekends are either! 😁🍻

Wildflower Friday with luscious sandhill milkweed! This beauty looks like she belongs in a tropical jungle, but actually makes her home on high and dry sunny sandhills in the northern 2/3rds of the state. 🥵

Like all milkweeds, she’s a lovely host to monarch and queen butterfly caterpillars. 👸🏼 🐛

I’m endlessly obsessed with and inspired by old botanical illustrations and I think that really shows through in this dreamy little trio.

I’ll have these three (and many more!) with me at Art in the Garden this weekend at ! Two days, 65 artists! I’ll be set up in the Trout River Plaza (across from the Trout River Grill, near the train station by the river). Bring your mom! Buy her some flowers she can keep forever.

I’ve got lots to do in preparation for Art in the Garden at this weekend and wasn’t planning to do much casting this week, but then a bunch of ladiestresses orchids popped up in my neighbors lawn…

I planned the composition around the orchid stalk and it all just came together beautifully. Now back to planning my booth set up and praying for the forecasted rain to come through on Friday or hold off until Monday. ☔️🌈😬

This lizard’s tail cast, and many more, will be with me this coming weekend at the for Art in the Garden! I’ll be set up in the Trout River Plaza Saturday and Sunday. Come buy your mama (or yourself!) some flowers that will last forever! 🌸 🐅 🌸 🐘 🌸 🦒 🌸 🦏 🌸🦓
