The National 2026 is in the books, and this was one I needed. After a couple of difficult years, I left Chicago feeling like I found my place at The National again. It was a successful show for my work, but what I’ll remember most are the people: old friends, new collectors, unexpected conversations, new opportunities, and seeing more diversity on the show floor than I have in years. I took some chances this year and brought more work that simply said, “This is who I am.” The response reminded me of something I’ve learned again and again throughout my career: bet on yourself, take up space, and don’t shrink the parts of you that make your work yours. Thank you to everyone who stopped by, supported my work, or simply spent a few minutes talking with me. See you next year.

The National Sports Collectors Convention Inc. this year has been all about the people I’ve met and interacted with. Late yesterday, pro wrestling announcer and Reggie Jackson superfan Tony Schiavone stopped by my booth to check out my work and chat.

As a huge fan of WCW during the Monday Night Wars, this was a real thrill for me. Tony was the voice of countless episodes of Nitro and WCW pay-per-views, and I thanked him for all the joy he brought into my life over the years. I gave him prints of both Reggie Jackson pieces I’ve painted, and he was remarkably humble and genuinely appreciative.

You never know who’s going to stop by your booth at The National. And that’s part of the fun.

The National Sports Collectors Convention Inc. has been so wildly busy I haven’t had time to post until today. It’s the biggest crowd ever, and I sold my Spider-Man signed by Tom Holland and my Wolverine before the first day was done!

Friday has been absolutely swamped with people, and it’s not even the busiest day of the event. It’s finally slowed down just long enough for me to make this post. Already looking forward to tomorrow, the busiest day of the week!
