This is one I did a few years ago up at Wilder Ranch. Lots of great hiking and bike trails up there. I changed a few things in the studio yesterday and like it a bit better now. pressionism

This is a painting from last week along Fall Creek. I loved the hard diagonals of the downed trees against the soft moving water. The sound of the falling water and the smell of the wet earth and trees was very soothing. Next time you get a chance, wander around in a forest. You’ll feel a lot better, I promise.

So cool to have my painting Pacific Edge on the cover of Lenz Arts January buyers guide. Lenz is the heartbeat of the Santa Cruz art scene and has been for over 50 years. Andrew Lenz runs the show and makes sure local artists have whatever they need to create. Independent art stores are very hard to come by these days and we are very fortunate to have Lenz Arts in our community. All you artists out there need to make sure to support independent art stores. There’s nothing like the smell of a real art store like Lenz. Head in there to see what I mean. If you’re a real artist it’ll get you all tingly inside. Thanks is for the cover shot Lenz!

I’m excited to have my painting String Lake Morning in the LPAPA Signature Exhibition opening January 8th at the LPAPA Gallery in Laguana Beach. This was painted in Grand Teton Natl Park last September while on an excursion with the Granite Group.
