Here's another part of my Sausalito project. The stencil is from The Mad Stencilcist. I love it when I can use a stencil from a previous project on a new one. The wall is a typical, bumpy drywall texture. Such a pain to work on!

The flowers and vines are supposed to go all the way around the kitchen. Unfortunately, I ran out of time so I'll have to go back later to complete this.

I got back late Monday from a faux wood-graining job in Sausalito. The first photo is of the interior front door (previously flat white). The remaining photos are of sound studio doors that are metal and were previously grey.
The lighting wasn't good and the space was tight, so it was really hard to get shots. Sorry for the questionable quality.

Oversized flowers project: In this clip, I'm painting in the stems and leaves. I'm using a base paint and then apply green foil on top so the leaves have a shimmer. Afterwards, I painted in shadows and highlights (not shown here.)

First few days of a powder-bath project. The walls started out brown. I base-coated in a cool green, then troweled on metallic plaster.
Next up, painting over-sized flowers. 😊

"Give Me Strength" Progress Vid 9 . This is the final video! This has been a while coming. I had a few commission pieces to work on, the holidays, and and art show to attend, but "Give Me Strength" is finally finished. .
Since the last video, I painted in the shadows to enhance the dimensionality of the prints . . . and I forgot to video it. Typical. I get excited when I'm close to finishing a piece and I forget my head. .
I laid down another layer of plaster in the shape of my signature glyph and let it dry. In this video, I'm doing the last step of painting in powder pigment onto the glyph so it looks like the rest of the composition. .
And ta-da! It's done. I'll write up a more extensive post in a few weeks for the debut of this new piece. .

"Basket of Bounty" In high bas relief, the images literally stand above the canvas and come towards you. This piece was inspired by a mixed bouquet and would look lovely among other greenery in your home or patio (in a covered location).

Little Brother," one of the pieces I sold last weekend while displaying my art at the Archaeological Institute of American conference in San Diego. This little guy is new enough that I hadn't gotten a chance to put him up on my website, but he's there now and prints are available. I talked with many people who identified with the title and sympathized with it. Being the youngest sibling out of 3 myself, I get it! How about you? Were you the younger tormented or older tormentor? .
