Can you believe that at one point, painting cats used to terrify me? I dont know what it is about their skull structure (I mean, Ive STUDIED their skull structure 😅) that makes me panic, but every time...I'm amazed at what can come out of it once I just take a breath ans focus.

Embroidery isnt acrylic painting, but it sure is another crazy medium that gives me pause from time to time. That said, I've never been happier than I have been when creating these beautiful pet portraits.

Tabby cats are honestly one of the more fun ones to create...just look at those layers.

Also…did you know Google Photos has a background blur feature?
I was over here opening Photoshop like it was a whole production when apparently I could’ve done it in two taps.

Your local small-time pet portrait artist here in Arkansas.

I’m a little quiet on here sometimes because I also work full-time as an animal doctor, and balancing work, art, and life can get a little chaotic. I try to keep my doctor life and hobby life mostly separate, though, so this page is mainly for the cozy creative side of things.

Painting, embroidery, pet portraits, tiny artistic obsessions, and occasionally me remembering to actually post my work.

A friend of mine requested I create a painting of a white/grey arabian horse with a background similar to one you might find in Red Dead Redemption 2.

It felt absolutely freeing to just go to town and throw some paint on a canvas. And seeing the final result...it makes my heart so happy.

She is beautiful, and I cannot think of a thing I'd change.

I can only hope my friend's sister loves it as much as I do.

I still plan on going in with some detailed hair work, but for now...it's a vibe 😅

Finally took the tape off of the subject...and I am so excited to get started on her.

This painting is going to be absolutely beautiful. Not that it already isn't. But for being the first mostly landscape painting I've done in a while...I am thrilled with the turnout.
