I take little balls of dirt and morph them into beautiful home goods and decor. Mugs, donut vases, etc.

I feel like this is the first event we do not feel rushed to get the glazing done for.

Usually we end up burning the midnight oil to get things glazed in time to survive the 36 hour firing cycle.

We are VERY excited for NC Fall Festival - Raeford on 17OCT.

We have about 60 of these on deck, 12 have been spoken for.

These are our “test” mugs. We filled our small kiln with new glaze combos for our Halloween batch. We know to use test tiles, but we trusted what we thought would work.

These mugs….the BIG kiln will be FULL of them in a few weeks for NC Fall Festival - Raeford, then if any remain, they will go to Dirtbag Farmers Market.

I don’t really want to go to work tomorrow.

The green on my Beetlejuice pumpkin is “just ok”. I’ll probably try something else as it didn’t cover the white or black beneath it very well.

See you soon, Fayetteville and surrounding areas.

Do you recognize the color scheme? If you are an 80s baby you surely do.

This is a test pumpkin. If this comes out of the kiln tomorrow as intended, I may do all of my pumpkins in this color scheme.

My 16 year old says he doesn’t get it, but do you?

Does it need the 4th color that goes with it?

In Cape Fear Studios today with Alina until 2.

Check back tomorrow for our first Halloween kiln unloading.

Hello, Cape Fear Studios is hosting a 6 By Exhibit starting tonight.

What is a 6 By Exhibit?

Well, it just means that each piece of art submitted must have at least one dimension measuring at least 6 inches long.

There are SO many incredible pieces here.

Fourth Friday is also happening downtown, so lots of vendors selling unique and mostly handcrafted items.

If you are downtown already, or looking for something to do, check out the studio.

For the first time, my art is here.

If you can’t make it tonight, Alina and I are opening and closing the studio tomorrow, 10-2. Come say hello!

Well, here we are.

As of this evening, my pieces are sitting in the center of Cape Fear Studios.

At the same time, the studio is hosting an exhibit with pieces of art from all around the United States.

Even without the exhibit, the studio is ABSOLUTELY littered with incredible art, ranging from the works of other potters, painters, stained glass artists, and clever pieces made from recycled materials.

Alina and I will be at the studio tomorrow evening and I encourage anyone that fancies art to head downtown.

We will also be opening the shop Saturday from 10-2.

I hope to see you there.

I’m only going to show one picture today, and it’s highlighting the one thing we typically do not bring.

Come meet our Head of Theft Prevention; The Honorable, Leftie Thunderchops.

At Dirtbag Farmers Market until 2.

Also, with the high volume of sales yesterday, we have chosen to take $5 off of anything $35 and over.

Trying to make room for all the Halloween Stuff that is in the works.

All set up at Wilmington Coffee Fest.

Runs from 9-3.

Folks we can’t let these pots jingle all the way back to Fayetteville this afternoon.

Weather might just be perfect for the event.

Come say hello!

Goal was 60-75 Halloween Mugs. Well over halfway done with plenty of time to spare. It’s taking over the living room now.

I throw them, but Alina does the part that makes them special by adding these pattern transfers.

Impatiently awaiting them to dry so we can get them all dolled up with spooky colors.

You may notice tiny imperfections at this stage of the drying process. Not to worry, they are so small that the glaze will smooth them right over.

My pet peeve remains a wobbly bottom, so I check each one at the end and sand any remaining wobble right out of any of them that need it.

Alina’s pet peeve is a a sorry attempt at stamping them with our logo. And sometimes I end up sanding it out…you know…because of wobbling… 😆

About another 3.5 weeks until these will be finished.

Still unpacking and setting up at Dirtbag Farmers Market.

I’ve convinced Alina to let me conduct a Fire Sale on Mugs.

Usually $35, all mugs are $30 tonight, 6-9 p.m.

We also brought our first batch of spooky little ghosts.

Come say Boo.
