🎳 Pinsetter Upgrade – Day 4

Yesterday was another big day in the transformation of Fun Bowl Fayette County!

✅ New ball track installation is underway
✅ Pin decks are being leveled
✅ The last of the new tail planks were installed
✅ Final day of cleanout

One thing we’ve discovered during this project is just how much history was hiding behind the scenes.

Since opening in 1987, we’ve operated through three different scoring systems. Each time technology was upgraded, parts of the old systems had to stay in place because everything was tied together. That meant decades of old communication cables, wiring, and equipment remained hidden throughout the building.

Not anymore.

With the installation of our new Brunswick Boost ST pinsetters, we’re finally able to start with a clean slate. Crews are removing miles of old communication cables that have been collecting dust for nearly 39 years.

It’s amazing to watch nearly four decades of bowling history come out while making room for technology that will help serve our customers for decades to come.

🎳 Day 3 Update

Yesterday we removed the original pin decks and installed the brand-new pin decks on the lanes. We also removed the 39-year-old ball track system that has been in service at Fun Bowl since 1987.

A lot of work is happening behind the scenes as we prepare for an all-new ball return system. While much of it won’t be visible once the project is complete, it’s laying the foundation for a more reliable experience for our bowlers for years to come.

Yesterday was the 2nd day of installing the last set of our new pinsetters.

Today we removed the last of the old kickbacks, flat gutters, and the original foundations from the A-2 pinsetters that served Fun Bowl for nearly 39 years. It’s incredible to see just how much of the bowling equipment behind the scenes is being replaced as part of this project.

We also started preparing for the all-new ball track system that will be installed next week, bringing even more improvements to reliability and the overall guest experience.

With each day, another piece of the old system comes out and another step is taken toward the future of bowling at Fun Bowl Fayette County.

Yesterday marked the beginning of the final phase of our pinsetter modernization project at Fun Bowl Fayette County.

In this time-lapse, you’ll see the last set of Brunswick A-2 pinsetters begin their journey into retirement after 39 years of service at Fun Bowl.

These machines have been part of countless league nights, birthday parties, family outings, tournaments, strikes, spares, and memories since 1987.

Over the next several days, we’ll be sharing daily updates as we remove the final A-2s and install our new Brunswick Boost ST pinsetters.

🎳 The Last of the A-2s Are Rolling Out the Door

After 39 years at Fun Bowl Fayette County, the last of our Brunswick A-2 pinsetters are officially leaving the building.

They helped power decades of league nights, birthday parties, family outings, and countless memories for our community.

It is a little bittersweet to see this chapter close, but we are excited about what comes next: fewer interruptions, improved reliability, and a better overall experience for our guests.

The end of an era—and the beginning of a new one at Fun Bowl Fayette County.

Fun Bowl Fayette County is staying right where it is, but a piece of our history is retiring.

This week, the last of our original 1987 Brunswick A2 pinsetters will be removed as we complete our pinsetter modernization project.

Before they make way for the future, come bowl a few games on the machines that have served Fayette County bowlers for 39 years.

🎳 First league night on the new pinsetters at Fun Bowl Fayette County is in the books!

Congratulations to Dustin on an impressive 765 series, currently the highest series recorded on our new pinsetters as league bowlers got their first games on the new equipment.

We’re excited to see what scores are still to come as bowlers continue getting familiar with the new setup. Thanks to all of our league bowlers for being part of this new chapter at Fun Bowl! 🎳

🎳 A Small Piece of 1987 Lives On

These Brunswick 2000 foul light covers have been here since opening day in 1987.

As we modernize the center, they’re not being replaced…. just refreshed.

When the project is complete, they’ll be the last original pieces from our opening year still in daily use.
