Songs in the 'Ville

Songs in the 'Ville SONGS IN THE 'VILLE is a Songwriters In-the-Round Series held on the 3rd Thursday every month at the UARK Ballroom, 644 W.

Dickson St., in Fayetteville, Arkansas, hosted by Effron White. SONGS IN THE ‘VILLE is presented in a true “in-the-round” format, in which the 3 guest writers, along with the host, White, sit in the center of the room facing each other with the audience seated comfortably at tables surrounding the song circle. This format provides an informal “living room” type of atmosphere, giving the audience

the feeling that they are an intimate part of the musical proceedings. The artists take turns sharing the stories behind their songs and performing them, sometimes with other artists in the circle joining in to offer some harmony or some cool musical accompaniment. White strives for an interesting and complimentary mix of artists for each show, usually combining 1 or 2 out-of-town writers with one of NW Arkansas’ own. The UARK Ballroom is an event center that offers a comfortable, non-smoking, and acoustically friendly atmosphere for the show. Although no food is served, a full bar is in operation during the show. Ages 18 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
