A Dream That Started With a Song
For Lynne R. O’quinn, music was never just a career. It was something she loved from an early age, writing her own song when she was only eight years old. After winning several songwriting contests, that early passion continued to grow into a lifelong journey through music, management, writing, and production.
After years in the industry and working alongside the late Joe Boyland of Legend Artists Management, including work connected to Lynyrd Skynyrd and other well known bands, Lynne eventually decided to build something of her own. That dream became Cabin Fever Studio Productions, a recording and production studio built around her love for music and the belief that a dream is worth continuing to pursue.
Building a Studio Through Every Challenge
Running a recording studio comes with its share of surprises. Equipment can fail when it is needed the most, business can slow down, and Covid brought an especially difficult period for the industry. Instead of stepping back, Lynne and her team used the slower seasons to write and record original music. As a woman running a recording and production studio in an industry often dominated by men, Lynne has also carved out a space that feels distinctly her own. The studio has continued to grow with the help of people who have become an important part of its story, including the late Michael Andy McKinney, former bassist of Molly Hatchet and studio manager, current studio manager John Wilson, and engineer Tim Stewart.
Today Cabin Fever Studio Productions offers a fully equipped environment built for sound recording, with analog and digital capabilities, state of the art equipment, top of the line
microphones, and space for music and podcast production.
Keeping the Dream Moving Forward
One of the hardest moments came after Andy McKinney passed away. Lynne had promised him that she would never give up on her dream, and keeping that promise became part of what pushed her forward. John Wilson stepped in to help her run the studio, and Cabin Fever has continued moving ahead at full speed.
Lynne’s creative energy has not slowed down either. She personally wrote 44 songs in just two months and is now working with artist and producer Deryle Hughes, developing and recording new music together.
Her work extends beyond the studio. Lynne is also a published author, with the upcoming The Mermaid Princess being released through MindStir Media, and she is the founder and director of his outreach worldwide, where she continues her work as an ordained minister. Looking ahead, Lynne hopes to see Cabin Fever Studio Productions become one of the top studios in the United States, with gold and platinum records eventually filling its walls. For her, that would be more than an achievement. It would be proof that the dream she started years ago was never meant to die.
