This September, I will be a Guest Speaker and participate in the 15th Annual “Heat It To Beat It” event and you can be a part of it by walking with me and/or making a donation on my fundraising page! This event was launched fifteen years ago to raise awareness and funds for research for a unique surgery and treatment of abdominal cancers.

The spread of cancer throughout the abdomen is known as peritoneal carcinomatosis (PC). A treatment called Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC) is a highly effective, concentrated, heated chemotherapy that is delivered directly to the abdomen immediately after the surgical removal of advanced abdominal cancers.HIPEC helps eliminate any remaining cancer cells following the surgical removal of the disease.

“Heat It To Beat It” refers to this heated chemotherapy that we use, which is essential in beating this type of cancer! This event is our vehicle to raise awareness and the necessary funds to continue advancing medicine through research and promoting this life saving treatment.

The Institute for Cancer Care at Mercy is one of the top medical institutions in the United States that offers HIPEC treatment and is dedicating extensive research to increase HIPEC awareness and understanding within the medical community.

DO YOU KNOW MY STORY??

Do you know that 15 years ago the doctors gave me a 1-year survival rate? Do you know that I had appendix cancer; a rare cancer that seeded my stomach trying to take my life? Do you know that at the time, only 3% of people in the entire world ever had appendix cancer and the majority of them didn't beat it? Do you know there were only 12 doctors in the USA at the time who could attempt to save me from the fate of appendix cancer? Do you know they split me from my chest to my pelvis and went through that entire area piece by piece to remove all of the cancerous tumors from my body? Do you know that they tied me to a bed, stuffed tubes in every opening of my body, left me open for (3) three days, and pumped (4) four liters of chemo in my body? Do you know I coded because of the trauma to my body but GOD said HOLD ON! NOT TODAY! Do you know that one year after I recovered, I turned around and had to do this same surgery AGAIN the same year my son died? Do you know that we are walking miracles? Do you know I FOUGHT CANCER LIKE A GIRL and beat it 2-2? Do you know that I have been CURED of the cancer that invaded my body for 2 yrs. in a row with years of recovery due to the residual illnesses from a compromised immune system? Do you know that my treatment gave me an 85% chance of NEVER meeting that demon again? Do you know that IF IT HAD NOT BEEN FOR THE LORD I WOULDN'T BE HERE TODAY??

Appendiceal Mucinous Neoplasm AWARENESS. Learn about the many forms of this rare appendix cancer.

Happy 15 years of survival to ME! My doctor (Armando Sardi) told me to go LIVE and I have. I love life and my Momma who endured sleeping in chairs and on floors in the ICU unit beside me for days. ALL praises to God. Humble unto thee, I stand with the application of strong FAITH that was used to save me when I wanted to give up.

I am participating in "Heat It To Beat It" because I am a survivor of the physical, mental, and emotional turmoil this cancer caused and to honor my son, The Late Donte D. Woodson whose death taught me how to fight for my life! Join me!!

I hope you will consider supporting this important cause by joining my team, registering to participate, or by directly making a donation!

Your support is appreciated!

I DON’T HAVE 2024 RESOLUTIONS, I HAVE 2023 LESSONS LEARNED. There are lessons that God wants us to learn about life; some we will gain knowledge easily and on our own while others he will have to take a ruler and smack your hand to get you to learn because the lesson was buried too deep for you to understand.

LESSON 1: Being too nice is just as wrong as being nasty, both do nothing to preserve your spirit.

LESSON 2: Boundaries are ESSENTIAL. You can not abstract from them. Make them reasonable, don't break them, and don't let anyone cross them.

LESSON 3: Selflessness is the most precious and delicate part of you and it is only given to those who extend it to you.

LESSON 4: Trust comes in (4) distances, the first is trust yourself, 2nd is basic, 3rd is a small amount that's been earned. The 4th takes 216 miles of walking through whatever conditions presents itself to get to. If you want it you’ll walk that walk! The more you hike that 216 mile path to the top of a rugged mountain, the closer you get to absolute trust. What's important for the person who issues the trust is to know that most will never be able to trek that entire mountain to reach absolute trust and its okay. You reserve the 4th distance for yourself because you’ll walk it to preserve YOU! Some people no matter who they are to you only make it to the 3rd distance which means, no one should give absolute trust to anyone.

LESSON 5: Protect your peace because major disturbances wreaks havoc on every part of your life so you will end up having to repair each part to find peace again.

LESSON 6: It’s perfectly okay to feel your emotions. Suppressing them is contempt of the Spirit! How we deal with them (and you must) is maturity. Face them for what they are and handle them in a manner that will give you peace.

LESSON 7: Count your blessings, don’t destroy blessings, protect your blessings, and be proud of every one of them!

LESSON 8: Actions speak louder than words BUT words are an action and impactful too! Watch your mouth. Watch what you say to others and what you say about yourself.

It took (taking) some work to get to this place. No matter your age, God will continue to offer you blessings and LESSONS. Never stop learning or forget what you've learned.

I’m good! I'm ready for 2024 and pray God allows me to witness it and I WILL live it abundantly. I got some tools from 2023 and trekking sticks to take with me.😁

Peace and Blessings Nice/Nasty People.
