The 2025 Five County Fair memories are still going strong. From pageants and dog shows to cattle events, hay bale contests and fun free activities for all ages, last year’s fair was full of moments to remember.
Pumpkin decorating, livestock shows, contests, laughter, and time spent together made it an unforgettable week at the fair. So many memories made, and so many reasons we already can’t wait for this year 🎡🐄🎃

Don’t forget to come out and support our Miss Five County Fair with her Operation Glass Slipper event this weekend and next!

We are so excited to announce Operation Glass Slipper, a prom dress event created to make prom dreams come true for young ladies in our community!

This initiative began as the 2025 Miss Five County Fair Queen’s platform in 2023 and has since been turned into a nonprofit organization, made possible with the help of our incredible community, volunteers, and supporters who believe every girl deserves to feel confident, beautiful, and celebrated.

Drop-off locations (as of now):
• Cumberland County Department of Social Services
• Little Bits of Everything Thrift Store in Keysville

We are honored to announce that at the 2026 VA Association of Fairs convention this weekend, Auburn was recognized as the Fair Person of the Year. This award is designed to recognize the outstanding service of an individual at their fair and thus to the fair industry as a whole. The Fair Person of the Year Award is the most prestigious one presented by VAF.

Auburn began working for the Five County Fair Association as a teenager in 1962. In 1969 he became the youngest known person selected as fair manager in the United States at that time. From then through 2024, he remained fair manager for the Five County Fair – 56 fair seasons. Auburn was the face and voice of the fair for a total of 63 years.

As written in the application for this award, “Auburn’s legacy is the family he raised and the fair family he helped build. Auburn had a role in selecting, grooming and training several generations of fair members, board members, and officers. His shared knowledge and experience still guide our team today even after his passing in June of 2025.” Auburn’s impact on not only the Five County Fair, but also the VA fair industry will have a lasting impact for many years to come. We are truly honored and grateful for the recognition through this award for his decades of dedication to the fair industry.
