We are excited to announce the continuation of our Virtuosi Summer Music Institute and Festival, which has been delighting audiences since 2011. The program is designed to address the need for intensive music education for talented and motivated students, that is affordable yet rigorous, comprehensive, and provided by world-class instructors. Our program is open to students who demonstrate a command of their instrument and are able to perform in a variety of musical settings.

In addition to providing high-quality music education, the Virtuosi Summer Music Institute and Festival also exposes students and the wider community to diverse and inspiring performances including chamber orchestra, voice, and chamber music. Our commitment to high-standard concerts is as strong as ever, and the program will include chamber music coaching, chamber orchestra, music theory classes, history of composers from guest lecturers, and many public performances.

We are proud to offer this unique opportunity to aspiring musicians, and we encourage all eligible students to apply. Join us for an unforgettable summer of music education and performance at the Virtuosi Summer Music Institute and Festival.

All Institute instructions and the majority of the Festival performances take place at St. James Episcopal Church in Farmington,

We also present performances at the First Presbyterian Church of Hartford and the Wadsworth Museum of Art in Hartford.

The program is open to The institute is open to students 13 years old and older, and adults who demonstrate a good command of their instrument and are able to perform in a variety of chamber music and advanced orchestral settings.

In order to be considered for solo performance opportunities, a student must come with a prepared repertoire including classical or romantic sonata, bravura piece, or concerto movement prepared prior to the start of the institute. Piano accompaniment will be provided.

A recent graduate of the Hartt School of Music, internationally acclaimed cellist Sanga Yoon is a dynamic and expressive artist, known for her commanding performances across a broad spectrum of classical and contemporary repertoire. Her performances in her native Korea, as well as the US, show Yoon’s deep understanding of stylistic practices. Sanga brings technical mastery and emotional depth to both solo and ensemble settings. As a core member of chamber groups and orchestras, including the Connecticut Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra, she presents informed performances of various styles. Yoon’s dedication to contemporary music is evident in her collaborations with composers, where she explores intricate new musical structures. Beyond performance, she is a passionate educator and advocate for music outreach, inspiring the next generation through teaching and engaging public programs at schools around Greater Hartford. Whether on stage, in the recording studio, or in educational spaces, Yoon’s artistry and commitment continue to enrich the musical landscape, making her a sought-after performer and collaborator in the classical world.
