Vocal Vignettes

Vocal Vignettes Vocal Vignettes is a program designed by producer/director Justin Radford and professional classical soprano Danielle Yilmaz. at the South Coast Repertory.

We will be using our expertise to bring the creative community together for performance projects and educational opportunities. Danielle Yilmaz (music director)

Danielle is a professional classical soprano as well as a private voice instructor in Farmington, MO. She owned Musicology Theater in the suburbs of Chicago where she produced and directed full scale musicals, plays, and revue's. Many of

her students and participants went on to have successful careers in the performing arts. Danielle is a soprano in the SLSO Chorus, and also performs with Union Avenue Opera. She has performed in Germany, Brazil, and Turkey. Danielle's collegiate training includes a Master's degree in vocal performance from UMKC. She is excited to find other creative people in the community and help push them to their full potential as performers. Justin Radford (artistic director)

Justin has been in the theatre/acting business for over two decades. Like many rural graduates he began his journey at MAC where he delved deep into acting, directing and stage writing. After he finished there, Justin ventured to Anaheim, California. He joined an improv group, refining his writing abilities and securing a directing role. This experience allowed him to grasp the nuances that differentiate Midwestern actors and audiences from their West Coast counterparts. Additionally, Justin sharpened his acting prowess under the mentorship of Hal Landon Jr. Always eager to expand his knowledge and be closer to the entertainment "Industry," Justin made his way to Los Angeles. He began teaching theater to children through the Pasadena LEARNs after-school program while maintaining an active role with the Glendale Centre Theatre. In this dynamic theater environment, he wore multiple hats as an actor, director, writer, summer camp instructor, stage manager, and devoted patron. Justin's journey also led him to spend eight fruitful years at the Age of Learning studio. During his time there, he excelled as an Animation Script Coordinator, VO Actor/Director, and Producer. His lifelong aspiration of becoming a cartoon character became a reality! The challenges of the Covid era and the blessings of remote work brought Justin back to the Midwest, where he currently resides. He is hard at work creating and pitching cartoon series alongside his writing partner in Los Angeles. Simultaneously, Justin is dedicated to bringing his artistic expertise back to the Parkland region, with a vision to nurture opportunities for the next generation of creators.

Name: Wayne
Species: Ball Python
Age: 5 years
Length: 4 feet (still growing)
Hometown: Central Park Zoo

Bio:
Wayne is a smooth, silent slitherer with a calm demeanor and a love for cozy hiding spots. Known to his friends as “The Coil King,” Wayne enjoys basking under his heat lamp, plotting daring escapes (which he never actually follows through on), and watching people with unblinking curiosity. He may not hiss much, but he always listens. Wayne has an Instagram-worthy pattern, a no-drama attitude, and a refined taste in frozen mice.
Fun Fact: Wayne once photobombed a Zoom call and became an accidental office celebrity.

Come meet Wayne the Snake and the rest of the cast at our last show today, 2pm at Long Hall!
