🐎 Open Riding – This Week 🐎

Saddle up! We’ve got four full days of open riding this week, all in the Indoor Riding Arena!

📅 Tuesday, September 1 – 9 AM to 9 PM
📅 Wednesday, September 2 – 9 AM to 9 PM
📅 Thursday, September 3 – 9 AM to 9 PM

Grab your horse, dust off those boots, and come get some time in the saddle. We’ll see you in the arena!

Ditch rotation schedule update posted on behalf of the New Mexico Office of the State Engineer & Interstate Stream Commission:

ANIMAS RIVER ROTATION UPDATE – THIRD ROTATION BEGINS AUGUST 31:

Flows on the Animas River remain below the rotation threshold, with the Animas River near Cedar Hill currently flowing at approximately 117 cfs. At these flows, ditches are experiencing difficulty diverting the available water.

Although precipitation is forecast over the weekend between Silverton and Farmington, current forecasts do not indicate that river flows will increase sufficiently – or remain elevated long enough – to delay the third rotation. OSE will reevaluate river conditions and forecasts on Monday.

Unless otherwise notified by OSE, the third rotation will begin at 8:00 p.m. Monday, August 31. At that time:

• Group 4 may resume diverting.
• Group 1 should cease diverting and begin its scheduled three-day OFF period.

The updated rotation schedule is attached. Once the third rotation begins, participants should expect to complete the full rotation cycle unless river conditions improve sufficiently for OSE to pause or discontinue the rotation. OSE will continue monitoring river conditions and notify participants promptly of any change.

All other operating conditions outlined in the July 8 rotation notice remain in effect. We appreciate everyone’s continued participation and cooperation.

Please plan ahead! McGee Park will be CLOSED on:

📅 Tuesday, September 15th
📅 Wednesday, September 16th

This closure includes ALL McGee Park facilities:
🚫 Memorial Coliseum
🚫 Indoor Riding Arena
🚫 Outdoor Riding Arena
🚫 Convention Center
🚫 Multi-Use Building
🚫 Pavilion
🚫 All other buildings and facilities

There will be NO arena access, open riding, or facility access during these two days.

We appreciate everyone’s understanding and cooperation, and we’ll be ready to welcome you back after the closure!

It’s CONCERT NIGHT at the San Juan County Fair!

And here’s the best part… the concerts are FREE with your paid admission to the fair! Yep. FREE. As in, save that money for a funnel cake. 😂
But fair warning — the seats aren’t reserved, and the good ones won’t stay empty for long! Come early, see who won rosettes, grab some fair food and claim your seat! See you at TONIGHT!

It's hard to believe that we are approaching 25 years since the terrorist attacks of 9/11 2001.

It is our promise and commitment to Never Forget those lost on that day.

The event is at 8:30 am on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 100 S Oliver Dr. in Aztec.
