Job's Tears beads come from the Coix lacryma-jobi plant. I successfully grew my own in my garden a few years ago when a friend gave me some of her seeds and I took a shot at growing them.

The seeds develop with a natural hole in the middle that, when cleaned out, can accommodate string or wire and can be used in all kinds of craft projects.

Mother Teresa famously had a Job's Tears rosary.

I'm so proud of this style of rosary! Each 'bead' is made with aluminum wire that is wrapped about a million times and then the links are hammered on a steel block for strength and shine. The labor with this design is a lot. The finished product is so worth it, though.
