The Farmington Players Barn Theater began in 1953. 72+ years later, we have staged more than 255 different musicals, dramas, mysteries and comedies – all run by dedicated volunteers! "The Barn” is

now an icon in the Farmington Hills community - an intimate theater experience in a modern, state-of-the-art, handicap-accessible facility. This year (2015), we sought out (and won!) a grant from the Michigan Council for the Arts and Cultural Affairs (MCACA) to improve our stage lighting. We would like to thank our patrons and corporate sponsors for their loyalty and generous support throughout the years in helping us win this prestigious award!

Opening in three weeks, The Haunting of Hill House by F. Andrew Leslie. In this adaption of the Shirley Jackson novel, The Haunting of Hill House is a chilling and mystifying study in mounting terror in which a small group of “psychically receptive” people are brought together in Hill House, a brooding, mid-Victorian mansion known as a place of evil and “contained ill will.”

Led by the learned Dr. Montague, who is conducting research in supernatural phenomena, the visitors have come to probe the secrets of the old house and to draw forth the mysterious powers that it is alleged to possess—powers which have brought madness and death to those who have lived therein in the past.

Meet Jade Downey. Jade is excited to be making her Farmington Players debut! At her core she is an empathetic and committed artist who loves sharing stories of the human experience. She recently graduated with her BFA in Acting from Western Michigan University. Some of her favorite roles include Jane in The Coast Starlight and Cel in The Most Massive Woman Wins. Jade will be playing Eleanor in our upcoming production of The Haunting of Hill House. Performances run September 25-October 10. Meet Russell Boyle. Russell is thrilled to be stepping onto the Barn stage for the first time, having been a fanboy for years. Recent credits include Frederick Egerman in A Little Night Music, Eddie in Lost In Yonkers, Duke/Dr./Knight in Man of La Mancha at Birmingham Village Players as well as Father in Ragtime and Georges in La Cage Aux Folles at Players Guild of Dearborn.
