*Retired Not Tired - This class is perfect for recently retired competitive Irish Dancers looking to stay connected to Irish Dance without the expectation to compete. (Hard Shoe experience required). Classes are taught by former competitive and Professional Irish Dancer - Rebecca Kender TCRG. Throughout her competitive career, Rebecca has danced on the local, national, and international level, competing in both solos and teams. She has competed in the Mid-Atlantic Regional Oireacthas, North American Nationals, All Ireland Championships, Great Britain Championships, and World Championships. Rebecca started her professional career touring with Two Step Productions “Rhythm in the Night: the Irish Dance Spectacular”, and their Christmas Spectacular “Carol of the King” and was promoted to lead dancer. She has also been fortunate enough to tour with other companies, such as “Murphy’s Celtic Legacy” and Ciara Sexton’s Irish Dance Theatre. In 2020 she passed the rigorous certification process that allows students to compete worldwide in Irish dancing through the An Coimisiun le Rinci Gaelacha organization. Rebecca is a proud member of CLRG, The Irish Dance Teachers Association of North America, and the Mid-Atlantic Region. The Kender Academy of Irish Dance was opened in September 2020 and strives to teach dancers in a supportive and encouraging enviornment. We are here to help every dancer along thier unique dancing journey, no matter what that looks like. We are more than a studio, we are a family!
