💥💥ALOK (they/them): is an internationally acclaimed poet, comedian, public speaker, and actor. ALOK’s literary works “Beyond the Gender Binary,” “Femme in Public,” and “Your Wound, My Garden,” have garnered global recognition. Their dynamic presence has captivated audiences in over 40 countries, with sold-out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the Netflix is a Joke Festival. ALOK's first comedy special BIOLOGY! [alokvmenon.com] was executive produced by Christopher Guest. They are the subject of the docu-short “ALOK” executive produced by Jodie Foster and directed by Alex Hedison, which made its debut at the Sundance Film Festival in 2024. On screen, they can also be seen in Complicated Order, The Trans List, and Absolute Dominion (forthcoming). On television, they can be seen on HBO's S*x Lives of College Girls, Sort Of and Random Acts of Flyness, Hulu’s Planet S*x with Cara Delevingne, and Netflix’s Gender Agenda Comedy Special and Getting Curious with Jonathan Van Ness.
💥💥CARMEN LAGALA: The kind of comic you'd have a wild late-night conversation with, Carmen's darkly frolicsome humor leaves no topic off-limits. Carmen is a formerly shy Vermont collegiate hall of fame athlete who moved to New York City a decade ago to pursue stand-up comedy full time. Her debut special "Sweet Batch" (2024) has over a quarter-million views on YouTube, and spins on SiriusXM radio and all other audio platforms. You may have seen her on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert (2018), from her viral Don't Tell Comedy set (2023), Cracked Comedy (2024), or headlining clubs and festivals across the country. She has featured for Hari Kondabolu, Sam Morrill, Jeff Arcuri, and Dan Soder.
➡️ PLUS EVERY WEEK we host Improv on Tuesdays 6-8pm, and Open Mic Comedy on Wednesdays at 8pm (sign up 7:30)
