It’s been a long six weeks! I have been recovering from a broken wrist that has significantly slowed down my creativity ☹️The cast is off now and my wrist is getting better every day👍🏻
I did manage to make a little mushroom scene using scraps of wet felted wool and two trinket jars with removable magnet butterflies.

“Spring Hare”

This piece has a wire armature and several layers of hand felted wool. It is the largest needle felted sculpture that I have made. 🐇🐇

“Seasons”
The log sits on the forest floor among the spring flowers while a tiny salamander slips out of the hollow and into the sun.

As the air becomes colder leaves fall and a woolly bear caterpillar creeps over them looking for a place to make his cocoon.

When the snow comes a black bird lands to find the last of the berries not even noticing the little mouse fast asleep in the safety of the hollow.

“Revontulet”
This is my interpretation of Revontulet, a magical arctic fox who is responsible for creating the northern lights by flying through the winter sky
Standing 13 inches high with a wingspan of 15 inches he is the largest needle felted piece I have created. He has wet felted wings and his horns are made with spun cotton.
