It was a beautiful Friday evening for the dedication of Miracle Point Playground! We appreciated all those who came to event or sent calls and messages of pride and support to our team on this special day.
In many ways this dedication marked the end of years of hard work to raise awareness and the necessary funding to get Miracle Point built.
However, in some ways it marked the beginning.
This is the beginning of our community taking ownership of this special place. Miracle Point is privately funded by members of our community. So Pendleton County take care of it and respect it as though it is your own. Call law enforcement when needed without hesitation because the care and keeping of this playground belongs to each of us.
This is the beginning to see how local leadership can use this community-funded gift, something that is unique to our area, and support it with finances and action to bring our community together and tourism into our county.
This is the beginning of making not just this one area of our community accessible for ALL and inclusive but taking a look at all parts of our community and how we can include every child and adult. So many have mentioned the beauty of seeing ALL children and adults playing and interacting with each other at the playground. Does that stop at the playground gate and with our committee or can we find ways to promote accessibility and inclusivity in our community even more?
As stated last night, βPendleton County we are officially handing you the baton. How can you keep it moving?β
